Paediatrician National Training Grid Posts

Yorkshire and the Humber is privileged to be one of only three sites in the UK providing specialist paediatric palliative medicine training (alongside Wales and London) for paediatricians who wish to work as paediatric palliative medicine specialists. Training takes place in Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust/Martin House Hospice as well as at Sheffield Children’s Hospital/Bluebell Wood Hospice. This is two years full time equivalent. Paediatric Palliative Medicine certificate (CCT).

In addition paediatricians who wish to develop an interest in paediatric palliative medicine can request placements through their Deanery.

Paediatrician Special Interest Palliative Medicine

Specialist training in palliative medicine to ‘special interest’ level. One year Full time equivalent training in palliative medicine. Involves work based assessments, 50 cases and time spent working in adult palliative medicine. Assessed via a portfolio assessment and discussion CSAC. Recieve a letter of recognition from the college speciality advisory committee of the RCPCH. Details can be found on the RCPCH website www.rcpch.ac.uk.
